These Terms and Conditions govern your use of www.quelight.com and any related pages, content, services, features, applications and transactions made available through the Quelight platform (the "Platform"). By accessing or using Quelight, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Your agreement. By ticking the acceptance box during sign-up, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, and that you have read and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Ticking the box constitutes your electronic signature and creates a legally binding agreement between you and Quelight LTD.

2. The Platform
Quelight is an online platform focused on theatre and related creative work, designed to document, preserve and promote productions across their lifecycle. The Platform allows users to:
- browse and view show pages, venue pages and related media content;
- create creative profiles and showcase their work, using the Platform as a living online portfolio;
- upload or submit videos, images, biographies, credits and other materials;
- list shows under categories including Development, Archive and Pro Shot;
- make voluntary direct support contributions ("Donations") to shows or creative projects;
- purchase personal lifetime streaming access to selected video content on a pay-per-view basis;
- subscribe to Quelight Pro, an optional paid subscription with enhanced profile features;
- submit and display reviews, including through embeddable review widgets;
- claim and verify professional profiles;
- act simultaneously as a viewer, creator, and reviewer — these roles may overlap and are all governed by this single document.
Quelight provides a platform and promotional service. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not the producer, employer, casting director, rights-holder, distributor, venue operator, or sponsor of any show or creative work featured on the Platform.
3. Eligibility and Age Requirements
3.1 General use
You may use the Platform only if you are at least 14 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms in your country of residence. If you are between 14 and 17 years old, you confirm that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Platform where required by applicable law.
3.2 Public image uploads
You must be at least 16 years old to upload your own image, photograph, or likeness publicly to the Platform. Quelight does not require identity or age verification documents at the point of upload and cannot guarantee enforcement at the upload stage. However, if we are made aware that an image of a person under 16 has been uploaded without appropriate parental or guardian consent, we will remove that content promptly upon being notified.
3.3 Content involving under-18s
If you upload, submit, manage or publish content involving any person under 18, you confirm that you have obtained all necessary permissions, consents and lawful authorisations from the relevant parent or guardian.
4. Accounts and Profiles
You may need to create an account to access certain features of the Platform. You agree to:
- provide accurate, current and complete information at registration and at all times thereafter;
- keep your login credentials secure and confidential;
- update your information promptly if it changes;
- ensure that your profile content, credits and show listings are not false, misleading or deceptive;
- use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms.
You must not impersonate another person or organisation, misrepresent your affiliation with a production, venue, rights-holder or industry body, or falsely claim authorship, credits, approval or participation in any show or project. You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account unless caused directly by our breach.
5. Profile Claiming and Verification
5.1 Unclaimed profiles
To provide a complete record of productions, the Platform may display profile pages for creative practitioners compiled from publicly available production information, such as programmes, credits and show listings ("Unclaimed Profiles"). An Unclaimed Profile does not indicate that the person named has an account, endorses Quelight, or has approved the content shown. If you are the subject of an Unclaimed Profile, you may claim it, request corrections, or request its removal by contacting quelight.info@gmail.com or using the in-platform claiming process.
5.2 Claiming a profile
To claim a profile you must complete our identity verification process. You may be offered a choice between (a) an automated, AI-assisted verification check, which may approve your claim immediately, and (b) manual review by a Quelight administrator. Where your claim is rejected by the automated check, you may appeal and request manual review. Where a claim is pending manual review, we may allow you to edit the profile on a provisional basis; any provisional edits may be reversed if verification is unsuccessful.
6. Creator Content and Ownership
6.1 You retain ownership
You retain full ownership of the videos, images, text, biographies, show information, graphics, audio and other content that you upload, submit, post or otherwise make available on the Platform ("User Content"). Quelight does not take ownership of your User Content.
6.2 Licence you grant to Quelight
By uploading or making User Content available, you grant Quelight a non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt, display, stream, distribute within the Platform, promote and otherwise use that User Content as necessary to operate, improve, market and provide the Platform and its services. This licence lasts only for as long as your User Content remains on the Platform, plus any additional period reasonably required for backup, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, transaction records, enforcement, or ordinary technical removal from cached or archived systems.
6.3 AI tools and content moderation
Quelight may use AI-powered tools to assist with content moderation, including checking whether User Content complies with Platform guidelines. Users may opt out of having AI tools used to analyse their likeness or image by contacting quelight.info@gmail.com.
7. Account and Profile Deletion
7.1 Your right to delete
You may request deletion of your account and public profile at any time by contacting quelight.info@gmail.com or using any in-platform account deletion feature. Upon deletion, your public-facing profile page will be removed from all public-facing pages of the Platform.
7.2 Inactive accounts
Quelight does not currently operate an automatic closure policy for inactive accounts. However, where an account has shown no activity for a period of 3 (three) years or more, Quelight reserves the right to close that account after providing reasonable notice to the registered email address where possible.
8. Rights and Permissions Warranties
By uploading, publishing, streaming, selling or making any content available on the Platform, you represent and warrant that you own the content, or have all necessary rights, licences, permissions and consents to use it on the Platform, and that the content does not infringe any copyright, trade mark, privacy, publicity, moral rights, database rights, performer rights, or any other rights of any third party.
9. Prohibited Content
The following categories of content are expressly prohibited on the Platform: adult or sexually explicit content; political campaign material; bootlegs and unauthorised recordings; defamatory, abusive, threatening, hateful or discriminatory content; content that exploits, endangers or sexualises minors; misleading fundraising content; content uploaded without the consent of any identifiable individual featured in it; and spam, malware, fraudulent listings, or automated manipulation of Platform activity.
10. Show Categories, Listings and Pricing
Shows may be listed under categories such as Development, Archive and Pro Shot. These are descriptive platform labels supplied by users or Quelight. They do not constitute legal advice, rights clearance confirmation, production verification, financing verification, or any guarantee regarding the history, stage, quality, ownership, availability or commercial status of any show.
11. Reviews and Review Widgets
Users may submit reviews of shows and productions. Reviews must be honest, in the user's own words, and must not include defamatory, abusive or misleading content. Quelight may remove reviews at its reasonable discretion.
12. Direct Support Contributions ("Donations")
12.1 What a Donation is
Quelight allows users to make voluntary direct support contributions to shows, productions or creative projects ("Donations"). A Donation is a direct financial contribution to the artist or creator, after deduction of the Quelight platform fee. The standard split is 80% to the artist and 20% to Quelight, unless otherwise stated on the relevant show or payment page at the time of contribution. Where the creator holds an active Quelight Pro subscription, a reduced platform fee may apply as stated on the relevant payment page.
12.2 No product or service is guaranteed
A Donation does not entitle you to receive any video, digital product, physical product, performance, service or benefit of any kind in return. Donations are voluntary acts of financial support only.
12.3 Non-charitable status
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Donations on Quelight are not charitable donations and may not be tax-deductible.
12.4 Non-refundable
Completed Donations are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law, or where we determine a refund is appropriate in cases of duplicate payment, fraud or technical error.
13. Pay-Per-View and Paid Video Access
When you purchase access to a video on a pay-per-view basis, you are purchasing a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, lifetime right to stream that specific video through the official Quelight Platform. A pay-per-view purchase does not grant you ownership of any video, nor the right to download, copy, screen-record, reproduce, clip, excerpt, share, redistribute, broadcast, publicly screen, sublicense or otherwise exploit the video outside of the official Quelight Platform. If a creator removes a purchased video from the Platform, your access to that video will cease at the point of removal and no refund will be issued.
14. Quelight Pro Subscriptions
14.1 What Quelight Pro is
Quelight Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks enhanced profile features and reduced platform fees on certain transactions, as described on the Pro subscription page.
14.2 Billing and renewal
Quelight Pro is billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected at checkout) via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will notify you in advance of any change to the subscription price.
15. Payments, Payouts and Stripe
15.1 Payment processing
All user payments on the Platform are processed by Stripe or such other payment providers as Quelight may designate.
15.2 How creator payouts work
Quelight receives a consolidated sum covering all Platform payment activity on a monthly basis. Quelight then calculates and processes individual creator payouts based on completed orders and applicable fee deductions for that period.
15.3 Payout notifications
Quelight does not send periodic email reminders about payout balances. Creators will be notified within the Platform when their payout is ready to be processed.
15.4 Minimum payout threshold
Payouts will only be processed once a creator's available balance reaches a minimum of £10 (ten British pounds). Balances below this threshold will be held over to the following payment period until the minimum is met.
15.5 Unclaimed balances
If a creator deletes their account, or if Quelight closes an account due to inactivity, before a payout has been processed, any remaining balance — including balances that have not yet reached the £10 minimum threshold — will be forfeited to Quelight.
15.6 Bank account and payment details
Creators are responsible for ensuring that all payout details are accurate and up to date.
16. Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, Donations, pay-per-view purchases and platform fees are non-refundable. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of your country of residence.
17. Advertising and Third-Party Services
Quelight may display advertising, analytics tools and third-party technology. The Platform is built and operated with the assistance of third-party services, which may process your data as set out in our Privacy Policy. These include Stripe, Mux, Notion, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Ads Manager and AI development tools.
18. Complaints, Content Contests and Takedowns
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your rights, features your likeness without consent, or is otherwise in breach of these Terms or applicable law, please contact quelight.info@gmail.com with your full name and contact details, clear identification of the content concerned including a URL where possible, the basis of your complaint, evidence of your rights or authority where relevant, and any relevant documentation. Quelight will review complaints at its reasonable discretion.
19. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Platform to upload prohibited content; harass, threaten, impersonate or exploit other users; scrape, crawl, copy, reverse engineer, disrupt or interfere with the Platform; introduce malware; circumvent payment systems or content restrictions; screen-record, download, redistribute or restream paid video content; manipulate views or Platform activity; or make false credits, casting claims or production affiliations.
20. Platform Availability and Changes
We do not guarantee that the Platform, or any content on it, will be available at all times, or that it will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, complete or error-free. We may modify, suspend, withdraw or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time.
21. Intellectual Property in the Platform
All intellectual property rights in the Platform itself — including its design, branding, logos, software, databases, layout and original content owned by Quelight — are owned by or licensed to Quelight LTD.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quelight excludes all implied warranties, representations and conditions, except those that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where Quelight is liable to you, our total liability shall be limited to the greater of the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or GBP 100.
23. Indemnity
Where you upload content, manage listings, receive payments, or use the Platform in breach of these Terms, you agree to indemnify Quelight LTD against all reasonable losses, claims, damages, costs and expenses arising from your User Content, your breach of these Terms, your infringement of any third-party rights, or your misuse of the Platform.
24. Termination
You may stop using the Platform and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or close your account where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created legal risk, caused harm to other users, or misused the Platform.
25. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory law in your country of residence affords you greater protections. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
26. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted with an updated date. By continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
