"This production of Perudo was a glorious, golden, hilarious delight. From the start, the brilliant acerbic writing serves us proper snorters, gasps and guffaws. The lines are razor sharp and exquisitely delivered by a mesmerising cast of bright young things. There are moments when the audience cringe at the vivid embarrassment of youthful memories re-energised by the excruciating silences, the looks of longing, the romantic misjudgments and social miscalculations. Not only is the language dazzling but the deeper, psychologically astute yet subtle examination of the very nature of friendship, leaves the audience uplifted, thoughtful and wiser. All round quite wonderful."
"Perudo is the best thing since Hamlet. But where Shakespeare’s play is void of comedy, Amelie Roscoe hilariously portrays the tensions of a turbulent friend group that has Alexander Lloyd-Elliot’s eccentricity at its forefront. Climaxing in a tragic confrontation between the excellent Gabriella Bedford and the stunning yet acerbic Emily Dodds, Roscoe’s masterpiece impeccably tackles the difficulties of a friendship too dependent on nostalgia. While their game of Perudo is destined for failure, your eyes are destined for pure genius."
"Razor sharp production exploring the perils of honesty in relationships with hilarity and heartbreak. Roscoe is a writer who you will want to say you saw at this, her first, Fringe. Funnier than Fleabag but prepare for tears - this young writer’s remarkable maturity creates characters on a par with the best of our playwrights and which are executed by a cast with conic and tragic brilliance. Miss this play and you will regret having come to Edinburgh at all."
