How filming worksPerform and hire
Perform
- Short runs
- 1 to 5 performances, in slots at 5.30pm and 8.30pm, and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. £75 a slot, and the company keeps 100% of the box office.
- Headline runs
- 7pm, Wednesday to Monday, for 1 to 3 weeks, with a Saturday 2pm matinee. A £500 a week deposit against a 70/30 split in the company's favour, programmed 9 to 12 months ahead through three call outs a year.
- Highlight Festival
- Fringe previews, every July.
- LowMAF
- The Lower Marsh Arts Festival: four and a half weeks in February and March, with free space for over 100 artists. Applications are open.
- Transfer
- The Stephen Joseph Transfer: one company from the spring season gets a week at The Cockpit, a free rehearsal week and mentoring.
- Playwriting award
- The VCA Playwriting Award: £2,500 and a four week run. The current call closes on Friday 6 November.
- Office hours
- Mondays and Wednesdays, 5pm to 6.30pm, with the Artistic Director or the Theatre Manager, booked by form.
Hire
- The Theatre, up to 50, stage 10 by 4 m£17.50 an hour, £120 a day
Downstairs and in the round: the room is 11.5 by 5.7 m, with a lighting rig, sound system, projector and a dressing room alongside. Rehearsal is also £400 for four days.
- The Bar, up to 80
The whole venue at street level, step free, for up to 80. From £750, which includes a £250 bar tab; the sound system, the projector and a staffed bar come with it, and hirers may bring their own catering.
- The back area of the bar, up to 30
Up to 30, at street level. From £250.
