"I would recommend this one, for all the Dirty Dancing lovers and joy spreaders out there, fun, clever, camp, nostalgic and even factual — you might just learn something you didn’t know about the movie before you came to this show while having a good hoot throughout."

"I went into this show not quite knowing what to expect, having never seen the movie before. That turned out not to matter one bit as Firlit drew me in from the start with a masterful performance that was equal parts immersive, hilarious, and enlightening. She puts her heart and soul into what she does and it shows. Vulnerable and witty, Firlit's impressions of scenes from the movie tie in seamlessly with insights into her experience growing up alongside the film. I was enraptured and in stitches by the end of the performance. Already planning a return to view again. Don't miss this performance, I enjoyed every minute and truly can't say enough how beautifully done it was!"
"This is not a show that I expected to LOVE. I have never seen "Dirty Dancing." I have no interest in seeing it, but the winds that influence why we drift into certain Fringe shows blew me in the door. Lucky me. Melissa Firlit's energy is infectious - and she draws the entire audience along. She integrates participation in such a welcoming way that the entire room is supporting the volunteers. It's a community experience. In the end, "Dirty Dancer " is a warm and uplifting experience that's not just about a film, but about the way shared stories help us find our way."
"The beauty of nostalgia is that it tries to recreate or tap into the whimsy and joy of childhood. This show and the nuanced, dynamic and endlessly intoxicating performance of Firlit invite the audience to go on a shared walk, skip and a waltz down memory lane. It is silly, sometimes stupid (in the best way), always fun and it literally invites the audience to join in finding some meaning in those formative obsessions that actually play a part in shaping who become. Treat yourself by going to see this one!"
